(( I’ve decided to take a different course of events in the Chronicles of Garthras. I’ve now decided that I will be telling the chronicles between the views of both Garthras, and his older brother Gornax (Who’se renamed Zanador.) I see great things happening with making this change, and I hope you all do too. ))

—

Silvermoon City, the capital of the Blood Elves, is by far one of the most majestic cities you shall see within this world. During the day, it is bustiling with activities, but during the evening, it is a completely different place. The streets are empty, the magical lamps give off a faint light, which warms all those who stand near them. During the night, it seems that the city itself sleeps. But during this night, something unusual will occur.

—

It was half past eleven in Silvermoon City, and inside the Crimson Blade Pub, word began to spread of the betrayal of one of the Sunwhisperers against the Blood Elf community. And one of the elves who heard this, was High-General, Zanador Sunwhisperer. Zanador became furious that his family’s name has been curropted by the youngest brother in the family. He previously went months before, to exterminate his young brother, along with his other brother Drako, at a dark tower, but Garthras managed to excape. Once word spread completely through the city, Zanador ordered his brother, Drako, to meet him at his home.

It was now one in the morning, and the two Sunwhisperer brothers were now in long discussion on what they were going to do about their broken reputation.

“Drako, that whelp of a brother has cursed our name by abandoning the light and turning to the darkness, and the honor of our family name means more to me, and you I’m sure, than anything imaginable.” Zanador said, rubbing his forehead. Drako, standing at the other end of the table said nothing, but stared at his older brother and nodded his head in agreement. Upon seeing the recognition from his brother, Zanador began to speak once again. “And our family’s name will no longer be cleared of its curse until he is removed.” Zanador looked up once again at his brother, but Drako continued to stand silently. “So, I propose, that we continue to search for our fallen brother, and lay him to rest.” “As long as we allow him to walk freely among this planet, he is a danger to ourselves, to our name, and to the world.” This time, Drako spoke, “I agree with you brother, but what is it you plan on doing to find him?” Zanador seemed to smile at the question. He stood up, and turned his back at his brother, and unsheated his golden, two handed sword, the sword of the Sunwhisperer. The Sunwhisperer blade, is actualy made up of two, long one handed swords, which can be reattached, or taken a part to make one two handed sword, or two one handed swords. “You forget, that I have spy’s all over this damned world.” “My newest spy tells me that he saw Garthras register to be drafted into the Frostwolf Armies.” Drako’s eyes widened some what at the news. “So, he plans to excape us by going into those cursed mountains?” Zanador nodded “And I plan on entering that battle in search for him.”

It was about three days after the Battle in the Gulch. Ever night I tossed and turned. I drempt of the horror on the Human’s voice when they died. The pain they were enduring when my spells entered their bodies. Their screams were something I could never forget. It was as if their bodies were being torn appart by an unseen force. I suddenly sat up into a sitting position, sweat dripping down the sides of my face. “What have I done,” I began to say, whiping the tears away from my eye, “what have I done.” I slowly began to move my hands away from my face, thinking of all the pain they caused my ancestors, my family, my BLOOD! “It was necessary,” I said in a stern voice, “may they die a death tenfolds worse than what I dished out to them during our battles.”

I awoke the next morning with a grin of satisfaction, remembering the victory of previous days. My time during my 39th season was almost comming to a close. I tossed on my robes, and headed towards where my Warlock patrons resided. “Garthras, your pressence was known and is welcomed.” an elf in the back of the sanctum said as I began to desend into the darker depths of the sanctum. “I have come in search for which I can make myself worthy to reach my 40th season.” I said as I bent down on one knee. ‘You, are in luck, young Garthras.” my patron said. “I have a mission for you.” he said as he tossed down a small scroll onto the table that lay infront of me. I got up and began to read the scroll. “In simple terms, your mission is to save an elf.” my patron said as he picked up a small rock, which glowed a dark red as the elf picked it up. “Thats it, thats my mission?” I asked. “To save an elf?” “Yes.” my patron said as he looked deep into the rock “His name is Dorio, and he is being held hostage by the Amani Trolls in Eversong Woods.” “Bring him back to me, alive, for he has information about the Trolls that could help us destroy them from our lands.

Hours later, I looked upon what I knew was the Amani Troll city, Zi-Shatran. I began to conjur up a ball of energy, which turned into a green eye engulfed in flame, The Eye of Kilrogg. I used the eye to prob my surroundings, to detect any magical barrier that could prevent my entrance into the town. As the eye descended further into the city, I began to notice many trolls about. Towards the back of the city, I noticed a young elf in a big cell. “Dorio….” I said under my breath as my sight withdrew from my conjured eye. As I approached the wall, I nocited that there was a small sewer drain. I grasped the bars tightly and began to melt the bars away with a spell. Once the bars were broke, I went through the pipes. It felt like hours of searching through the sewers, which turned out to be only minutes. After a couple of minutes of searching, I saw some light. As I headed towards the light, I noticed that I was face to face with the young elf. I was surprised that this would be so easy. I began to melt the iron bars away. As I walked through into the daylight, I noticed that I was surrounded by trolls. “Perfect….I can’t believe I just walked into this one.” I said with a sigh. As the trolls began to move towards me, my Voidwalker, Konthang emerged from the pipes and distracted my attackers. As the trolls began to charge at my voidwalker, I sprinkled some poweder onto the lock and blew on it. After that, the lock fell off. I dragged the elf by the arm and dragged him out. A few trolls noticed what I was doing and drew their attentions towards me. I began to throw some spells onto the trolls. They stopped dead in their tracks and began to fall to the floor, writhering in agony and shier pain. Another troll came to their aid, only to get a hole ripped in his chest by one of my Shadow Bolts. My Voidwalker was still assulted by many trolls. I threw the Blood Elf to the floor and tossed my hands into the air, flame dancing around my fingers. As I did this, my eyes begame blood red and glowed with an intensity that I had never felt before. Up above the fighting, was a dark red cloud. It started off as a little puff, but morphed into a giant storm. Out of the cloud came flaming palls of energy, smashing into the troll forces. As the trolls began to back off, I grabbed the elf, tossed him over my shoulders and hearthed back to Silvermoon.

“Dorio!” my patron said as I walked down the stairs with the young elf behind me. “Yes, it is me.” Dorio said with a sound of relif. “If it was not for this elf, I would most likely have been eaten.” “Yes, Garthras is a good man.” my patron said as he walked up to us. “And as promised, by bringing my son back to me, you have achieved your 40th season.” My mouth could have fallen straight to the floor at what I had just heard, but closed my mouth. “Thank you, M’lord.” I said with a bow.

I began to leave the sanctum of the Warlocks when I heard a faint sound comming behind me. I turned to see Dorio running towards me. “I just wanted to thank you, again, for saving me.” the young elf said with a bow. “Dont worry, kid, just part of my mission.” I said as I began to turn away. “And if it is possible, I would like to join your cause.” Dorio said as he grabbed my shoulder. “You do, you wish to join the Day of Reckoning.” I asked the elf. All he could do is just nod at me. “I see, well our most revered Executioner will decide upon your future in the guild.” I said “Follow me.”

I awoke from my slumber by the sound of horses pulling a carriage towards my house. I got up, and looked outside, and as I arrived the carriage was beginning to halt at my door step. I tossed on the rest of my gear, grabbed my staff and headed towards the door. As soon as I reached the lower level of my house, there was a knock on the door. As I approached the door, I started to replay a few magical words that might be needed incase my “guest” would cause me harm. As I opened the door, Erzsebet was at the door.

“Erzsebet, it sure is a pleasure to see you.” I said to the undead as she walked into my kitchen. “Is there something wrong?” “Indeed.” she said, with a slight hint of fear in her words. “I have just recieved word from Executioner Sylus and Magnus Fikkle that the Alliance are making a push in Warsong Gulch.” “They have been sending in new troops daily for nearly a week and a half now, and we still have troops in the Gulch who are tired and weary.” “They both wish that those of us in the Day of Reckoning, who are able, to register for the battle to take back the Gulch.” It took me a minute to put all this information together. “Why would they be adding troops into Warsong Gulch when Arathi Basin could give them more resources?” “It just doesn’t make sense.” I thought to myself. My thoughts were interupted when I heard, “Will you be registering?” Erzsebet asked. “Hmm…oh yes I will register as soon as I can.” I said, “will you be joining as well?” “No, I wish though, but my warrior patrons have assigned me to get a lot of materials so that they can start working on what they call The Master Axe” Erzsebet said with a big smile on her face. After that, we got up, went outside, and departed. I was to go to Orgrimmar and sign up with the rest of those from Day of Reckoning who would be joining in the fight, while Erzsebet would be going to Arathi Highlands, hunting Fire Elementals.

As I entered the registration quarter, I noticed many from Day of Reckoning, such as: Sylus, Fikkle, Brinya, Dishman, and Alysona. Once all of those who were comming were there, we teamed up and registered. It took a little bit of time, but after that, all of us were on our way into Warsong Gulch. Once inside the Flag Room, we saw many others who wished to help defend the honor of the Horde as well. “Dishman, what is your plan of attack?” Sylus asked as he turned towards us. Dishman, like myself, was and still is a great Battle Strategist, but he has my experience in some parts of the field of battle than I, which is why they asked for his choice. “Sylus and myself will go and assult Silverwing Hold, while Garthras and Fikkle go midfield and pick off any who try to break our Flag Room, if any get past them, I want Alysona on defense to kill those who grab our flag.” He said as he began giving food to his bat. “Very well thought.” Sylus said.

Once the gates lifted, we all moved into our positions. Fikkle and I stayed near the middle of the battle field as we watched Sylus and Dishman run off into the direction of Silverwing Hold. Moments later, we were assulted by many Alliance. Fikkle began to cast his fire spells at those who got within range, while I was running around, putting curses and draining the life out of those who got to close, or were distracted by others of the Horde. We put up a valiant fight but in the end, we lost our lives. As our spirits arose from our body, the Spirit Healer grabbed hold of them, and ressurected us back to the way we were. Our battle plan was repeated for a few more times until I noticed that we had captured their flag twice, one more until victory (as was the rules of the Gulch). I decided that Alysona, could be in use of some help, so Kiimyin, my felhunter, and myself came to her aid. Just in time too, for Alysona was already under attack by a Night Elf rogue. Kiimyin charged in, bitting the rogue, tainting the young rogue’s blood with vile poison. I began laying down curses on the elf, to dwindle her life and her powers. My spells did their job well, for when the elf was about ready to fall, Alysona came up from behind the rogue and stabbed her in the back. As the elf fell over, we saw Sylus approach with the Silverwing colors and captured the flag for a third time.

Once we all started to leave, I looked upon the battle field. There was much blood spilled over the land and many dead bodies lay on the floor. “May all those Alliance know now the true power of the Day of Reckoning, for those who cross in our path, wont be standing for much longer.” I said as I looked upon the battle field once more, and left with the others.

After my master was slain by my brothers, I followed his minions. The name of the four that came and escorted me away from Khrazan are named: Sylus, Fikkle, Dishman, and Erzsebet. Sylus and the others led me down the path, where we meet up with a big group of Horde members. Fikkle introduced me to the rest of the members. They were Nelani, Xindi, Moodles, Hidanti, Rhonna, and Skelecat. After the introductions were made, we all walked a little further where we met up with an orc with eleven mounts. We each sattled up and sped off down the road. After a three days ride, we arrived at what looked, to me, like a dark temple.

“Garthras.” Sylus said as he came over to me. “This is the Hall of Darkness.” “It is here, where you will be initiated into our guild. Upon looking at the undead, I simply noded my head. We waited for nearly twenty minutes. Around that time I started to get bored. I went to a Fikkle the Mage “What are we waiting for?” I asked as I looked around the group. Fikkle gave me a look and simply said “We wait upon the Dark One.” As I looked back at the elf, a dark mist came over us. As the words came to my tounge on how to dispell the fog, Fikkle grabbed my shoulder and shook is head in a sign that this was supposed to happen. As the mist began to grow darker, a voice filled our heads. “The time has come for a new path. Your Mistress is no more. She refused the path I required of her and she has been banished, never to return. You will now follow this path that I will lay out before you. You shall betray the Horde, for it has grown weak and complacent. On this parchment, I hold the names of the betrayers who shall carry out my orders.” As this was being spoken, a dark form started to appear befor us all. In the back of the room, stood a hooded warlock. The Dark One opened up a scroll and began to read the names: “Sylus, Fikkle, Nelani, Dishman, Erzsebet, Garthras, Moodles, Hidanti, Rhonna and Katoka.”

As the names were being called, Sylus’s face began to darken. “No,” he said, “we shall not.” At that moment Sylus unsheathed his dagger and plunged it into the chest of the Dark One. At that moment all of those around me, including Fikkle moved into position attacking and casting spells upon the Dark One. Not knowing what was going on, instincts took over and I attacked with the rest.

“You will command us no more,” Sylus hissed at her, “For I shall be your Executioner one final time, and we are no longer under your sway.” The Dark One looked upon us as the life began to leave her face. She then looked upon Fikkle and began to speak in a low raspy voice “And you, Fikkle?” I looked upon the young elf, realizing that the two must of had some sort of connection. “I am yours no longer, for this shall be a day of reckoning, and you shall not see it through.” At that moment, the body of the Dark one fell limp, still clutching the scroll in her hands.

“You are not the betrayers, but the redeemed.” Sylus said as he picked up the scroll out of the Dark One’s hands. “You have all helped us free ourselves from the occult evil that has plagued us. Renounce the false ideology of the Dark One and join me in search of glory on the battlefield and riches from the spoils of war.”

Sylus reached down again and drenched his hands in the freshly spilt blood of the Dark One. Using his pointer finger he quickly scratched words onto the back of the scroll. When he finished, he looked upon us and spoke. “This is the Omertta, the oath of fealty: You have stood too long in the darkness of night. Through these coming trials you will rise from the ashes, blazing like the morning sun. Pledge an oath and swear your loyalty to this Day. Seek out glory, fame, riches and victory above all else. Tell others that the Day of Reckoning is coming.’

After Garthras pledged his loyalty to his new master, the two elves fled the city, knowning that if they were to stay, they would be hunted down by the guards of Quel’thalas. The mysterious warlock brought Garthras to an old, abandoned tower known as, Karazhan. And in that tower, Garthras trained in the ways of the dark arts for ten years…

”Very good Garthras, very good indeed.” said an old elf sitting at a table in the back of the room. ” “I do what I must to those who appose of our operations here.” I replied as I dismissed the purple orb of energy that was in my hands. “As noble as that is for you to say, we will eventualy be taken over and executed.” my master said. “It will not be long until the King knows of our plans and he will surely not wish to see them completed. “Then we should destroy him and any of those who find out about us.” I said, grabbing my Hypnotic blade from the table. As I was leaving for the observatory, my legs froze in place, I turned my head around to see was the matter. “It is no use.” “The King is no fool, Garthras, we are alone and unaided.” my master said as he got up from his chair and began to pace around the room. By then my legs were working once more and I was free to roam around the room once more. “Then, if an attack is not what you wish, then what are we to do?” I asked sitting myself on a small stoll near the table. ”We…are not doing anything.” “But you, are leaving this place.” the elf said as he pulled a torch down from the ceiling. As the torch was removed, a part of the wall opened up. “Master I am not just going to get up and abandon you.” I said as I placed an imobilization spell around me. “I wont.” My master just started to laugh. “My time is up, and there is nothing else for me to teach you.” “You are now the Dark Magi.” “In order for you to live long like myself, you must leave.” “I am NOT leaving.” I said, my voice getting darker and raspier. “If you will not leave on your own, then my minions will make you.” my master told me as two elves and two undead came out from the secret passage. The two elves siezed my arms and one of the undead put a dagger to my neck. “You do not understand, young Garthras.” “Your brothers are here within the tower.” “The only way for you to excape without harm is if you follow these young men and women.” my master said as he enchanted the main chamber doors with a spell. ”Gornax…and Drako are here?” I gasped. “Yes, now go.” “And quickly now.” my master shouted as we went through the secret exit. As the entrance door came to a close, the main chamber doors smashed open. There was sound of wood breaking and glass shattering beyond the wall. “Tell us where he went you old one, and maybe we will spare your life.” said a deep voice. My master only laughed. “I will tell you nothing, you weak minded fools, your brother has already achieved his full potential in the dark arts and has more power than any warlock in this world.” “He will destroy the both of you in due time, and your deaths will be my reward, along with his.” At that moment there was the sound of a sword being unsheathed. “Where ever he runs, where ever he goes, believe me when I say this, that Drako and myself will hunt our brother down and put an end to him.” said the voice. Then, there was a loud thud.

The undead with the bandit mask and the twin daggers looked at me, grabbed my shoulder and said “Dont worry, your vengeance shall come, for the Day of Reckoning has arrived!”

The Sunwhisperer blood line has always been the King’s body guards. Their duty was to protect the King where ever he went, and to make sure that his family came to no harm. The Sunwhisperer blood line was that of the Blood Elf Paladins. This tradition has lasted for nearly seventeen decades, until a young, headstrong, Elf came along.

“Very good, now see if you can bend the light into healing that wound of yous.” said an elf siting on a park bench outside of the training circle in Quel’ thalas. The elf was in his late 70′s and had white hair that flowed down his back and a short, grayish beard. The elf’s eyes were a bright blue, and when the light gleamed down upon him it seemed that you were looking into the face of Kael’thas himself. Then, another elf came infrong of him, one arm bent across his chest and the other holding a sword. The younger elf dropped infront of his elder and began to wave his hand over a cut in order to heal wound. There was a sudden flash of light where the cut was, but the light left as fast as it came. A sour expression came across the younger elf’s face. He got up and kicked his sword half way across the sparring ring. “Here give me your arm, boy.” the elder elf said as he jerked his student towards him. The elf closed his eyes and waved his hand over where the wound was. As before, light began to glow from the wound, but this time, the skin seemed to grow together. “You see Garthras, it is not that hard.” “All you must do is clear your mind and focus.” Garthras was in his early 20′s and was a little taller than most elves. He was 6’2 and had dark green, glowing eyes. His hair, which he tied up in a pony tail, was a rich, dark black color. “Yea, easy for you to say considering you’ve been doing this for God knows how long.” Garthras said as he rubbed his arm where his cut used to be. “It takes time and pratice young one.” the older elf said as he started to get up. “Yea, well when that time comes you can find me at the tavern.” Garthras said as he picked up his sword and walked away from the sparring ring.

“I’ll take a Grog.” Garthras said as he threw down a couple coins on the bar counter. The bartender nodded his head and pulled out a mug of Grog and placed it infront of the young elf. “Excuese me sir, but you seem to be a few silver short.” the bartender said as he picked up the coins. “Am I…well, I guess thats just too bad then.” Garthras said as he chugged down the last of his beer, “because I’m already finished.” As Garthras got up to leave, a guard grabbed his hand and pulled him forward. “You still owe this man his money.” the guard said. Garthras gave the guard one glance, turned around and walked away. “Hey, do you hear me?!” the guard shouted at the paladin. In the heat of rage, the guard picked up the mug and threw it at the elf. Those who witnessed the act instantly stood up from their chairs and began to walk away, knowning what was about to happen. “You, my friend, have just made a terrible mistake.” Garthras said in a low raspy voice as he turned around to meet the guard. The guard threw up his fists waiting for the paladin to attack him, but Garthras had in his hands a couple silver coins. “There you go, captain.” Garthras said as he placed the coins in the guard’s hand. “I’m glad you could come to your senses Gart….” the guard stopped midsentence, eyes and mouth opened. He looked down at his chest to see a curved blade stuck in his gut. The guard toppled over, coins falling out of his opened palms. “I suppose you wount be needing those any more.” Garthras chuckled to himself as he bent down and picked up his money. He looked around, no one moved or said anything, everyone just looked at him in amasement. He gave the bartender a nod and walked out of the tavern.

“Excellent, most excellent.” said a voice comming from the alley way that Garthras just passed. “What are you talking about?” Garthras asked in a rough vovice drawing his sword. “There is no need for any more voilence, Garthras, but what you did back their showed me something about you that normal Paladins dont have.” said a hooded elf as he came out of the shadows of the alley. Garthras began to lower his weapon at the sound of a stranger knowing his name. “You know me, how?” the Paladin began to ask. “I know much more that you know, young Garthras.” “But what I do know, is that the life of a Paladin, is not your true calling, but that of a Warlock.” the mysterious elf said. “A warlock?” Garthras said with a laugh. “Your kidding right?” “Do I sound like I am a type to joke around?” the hooded elf said with a much darker voice. As the two elves began talking, a scream was heard comming from down the alley way. Towards the back end of the alley, a young female elf was being beaten for her purse. As Garthras withdrew his sword, the hooded elf grabbed his arm and held him back. “If what you are about to whitness does not please you, then you are not suited for a warlock and I have been misjudged.” The elf threw up his hands and began to say some unidentified words. As elf said the words, fire began to dance around his fingers and up and down his palms. The hooded elf looked up and pointed at the thief. The mugger dropped the purse and began to run around, englufed with flames. The screams were filled with agony and pain. As the elf fell to the floor, Garthras looked over at the hooded elf. “I am at your service, master.” he said as he knelt before his new master.
